When I was revising Wainwright’s pictorial guides I typed in the new text exactly as it would appear in the books and sent it to the publishers, who would then convert it to the Wainwright font. From over two thousand paragraphs that were treated in this way I have chosen eighteen. As with the blog about classification I have printed it, scanned the pages of the print-out and uploaded the scan in order to preserve the line breaks. The whole collection is in the Wainwright Society archive. Also in the archive is an enormous box containing the pencil drafts of the revised maps and diagrams, but these can’t be digitised.
