Tuesday, 1st July – Submitted my June diary and my scenes from television as two separate blogs so that I could be sure that the diary would be uploaded.
Wednesday, 2nd July – Found my diary on my website, but not the scenes from television. I did right to send the two blogs separately. Tried to renew my subscription to the Ordnance Survey, but after half an hour on the telephone, I gave up. I can understand why people should make it difficult for me to receive money, but I can’t see why they should make it difficult for me to pay money.
Thursday, 3rd July – Spent another forty minutes on the telephone to the Ordnance Survey, and this time the man I spoke to gave up.
Sunday, 6th July – Dreamed that I was on the summit of a beautiful hill with a road up it and a building at the top. I decided that it must be Titterstone Clee Hill because I knew that I had never been there before. When I woke up, I consulted the map and found that there really was a road up that hill and a building at the top.
Monday, 7th July – Found a scene that starts too early on the computer, but that starts in the right place on the television screen, which means that I shall have to use television discs if I upload my collection to the internet. I did a lot of work ensuring that every scene starts and finishes in the right place, and the computer has undone all that work.
Wednesday, 9th July – Went by bus to Rydal with the Kendal Ramblers for a walk in that area. I didn’t expect to see anything new because I was so familiar with the area, but I discovered an interesting footbridge at the west end of Rydal Water and a beautiful little building called the Grot near Rydal Hall that I was able to photograph. There were crowds of people everywhere. While we were waiting for the bus at Scandale Bridge, I tried to identify a wild flower that was growing there. It was more like field pepperwort than anything else in the book.
Thursday, 10th July – Received an email inviting me to go on a Kendal Ramblers walk that starts in the same alleyway as the walk that I recently devised, which shows how great minds think alike.
Telephoned K.T.D., and they used Home Connect to enable me to renew my subscription to the Ordnance Survey and view the maps.
Friday, 11th July – Tried again to view the maps on the computer and came to the drawing of a padlock that prevents me from going any farther.
Sunday, 13th July – Rearranged my Blu-ray discs in numerical order so that I can find them more easily.
Monday, 14th July – Tried and tried to get the washing machine to work before I left for the shops. When I got home, I found that the machine had switched itself on while I was out and was now working.
Tuesday, 15th July – Started to watch my selections on the 1000-gigabyte memory stick.
Friday, 18th July – Received an email from the Old Buckwellians, including results of the online survey that I took part in in April.
Saturday, 19th July – Finished watching the selections from 1984 to 2014 on the 1000-gigabyte memory stick. There have been some changes, but not enough to matter.
Sunday, 20th July – Found a sequence in my selections that appeared in two places, and I was able to put this right.
Monday, 21st July – Posted the 1000-gigabyte memory stick to Chris in the hope that he can upload the relevant scenes to my website.
Wednesday, 23rd July – Went for a seven-mile walk with the Kendal Ramblers starting at Knott Lane near Orton. We stopped for a rest in the Great Asby Scar nature reserve, where there were masses of wild flowers.
Friday, 25th July – Telephoned K.T.D. and asked them to change my service provider from Microsoft Edge to Google Chrome, as the man from the Ordnance Survey had said that this would enable me to find the maps on the computer.
Saturday, 26th July – Tried yet again to find the maps, but without success. I don’t see what else I can do.
Monday, 28th July – Went for a walk in Brigsteer Woods early in the morning. Took a photograph of a wild flower that I later identified as betony. I have to try over and over again to open the car door or to start the engine. I didn’t have these problems with my last car.
Tuesday, 29th July – Received an email from the Ordnance Survey that finally enabled me to view the maps.
Wednesday, 30th July – Took the car back to the showroom, where, much to my relief, both my problems were solved.
